Christopher Scott Dip Est Man MRICS

Chairman and Managing Director of the company. Founder of Christopher Scott which was established in 1979 and opened on the Isle of Wight in 1984. Educated at the Chorister School, Durham School and Reading University and at the Central Polytechnic of London. Winner of the Cowan Taylor prize in 1976 gaining a Diploma with Distinction in Urban Estate Management.

Christopher worked as an Associate Partner in the North East of England and set up his own 4 office estate agency in Northumberland and Newcastle.

Christopher Scott started the company on the Island based at Gatcombe House in 1985, and opened offices at Wootton and more recently Cowes.

Specialist in Estate Agency, Development Consultancy, Project Management and Planning.

Hobbies: Travel, tennis and antiques.

Charles Spence BSc (Hons), MRICS

Director in charge of Residential Sales. Charles joined the company in 2004. Educated at Hordle House School, St. Edward’s Oxford, and then at Harper Adams College.

He has worked in the South of England with Strutt and Parker, Smiths Gore, including a post at Cowdray Park. Joined the company from Jackson-Stops & Staff working in Midhurst.

Hobbies: Mountain biking, skiing, water sports and fishing.

Motto: “I strive to provide straightforward professional advice to maximise the clients chances of success and have a good approach and pro-active working relationships with those I encounter”


David Long BA (Hons) P&D MA RTPI

Director in charge of Planning & Architecture. Member of the Town Planning Institute. David joined the company in 2008. Educated at Bembridge School and later achieved a Town Planning Degree at the University of West England in Bristol. David worked for the Town Planning Unit in the Large Project and Major Applications Team at the Isle of Wight Council. Now head of Planning & Architecture delivering innovative schemes which make a difference.

Hobbies: Gardening, fishing, water sports and skiing.

Duncan Willard BSc (Hons)

Associate Director and Manager of Residential and Commercial Sales at the Wootton and Yarmouth offices. Duncan joined the firm in 2009 from Strutt & Parker’s National Leisure and Hotels Department where he specialised in marina and golf course investments, sales and valuations, nationwide. Before this he worked in Mayfair for two leading global property consultancies; Cushman & Wakefield and Nelson Bakewell Real Estate in their worldwide Shopping Centre Acquisitions & Disposal Divisions. Educated at Hordle House, Lymington and King’s College Taunton, Somerset after which he read the RICS Accredited Degree – Land Management, Development & Planning in Commercial Property at the University of Reading.

Hobbies: Sailing, fishing, skiing, walking, windsurfing and entertaining.

Keith Haines

Director and Business Manager. Keith joined the company in 2003 to assist in the running of the business, and also to lead a department which brings investment to the Island. Formally Managing Director and Chairman of Patrick Engineering with manufacturing bases in Freshwater, Weymouth and Bournemouth.

Hobbies: Gardening, walking, antiques and clocks.

Steve O’Keefe

Head of Quantity Surveying and Project Management. Educated at Abbs Cross Comprehensive and Barking Technical College.

Steve has worked across the south of England since 1993 and became an Associate Director at Bailey Partnership in 1997. He joined the company in 2005 and is responsible for Quantity Surveying and Project Management across residential, commercial and industrial fields.

Hobbies: Gardening, swimming and reading.

Motto: “ensure the right outcome for the client”.


Sharon Packer

Specialist in Localism for the future, rural housing, and the Code for Sustainable Homes

Educated locally at Carisbrooke High School then the IW Technical College (as it was then).

Sharon has worked with rural communities on the Island since 2006, enabling the delivery of a number of innovative housing schemes for local people.

In 2008, Sharon became a Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor managing several schemes through this process and educating architects and developers to achieve the highest standards of sustainability.

Hobbies: Planet gazing, making wooden toys, massage therapies, and genealogy

Lincoln Miles

Consultant Designer to Christopher Scott. Educated at Middlesex University with BA Honours. Worked in a successful niche design company in London for 10 years. Came to the Island in 2003 and has worked with Christopher Scott since that time. Provides innovative designs for individual clients and companies. Appeared on Grand Designs Show 2010.

Hobbies: Gardening, walking and sculpture.

Motto: “good design means everything”


The main staff are supported by a hard working and loyal administration staff which includes Annette Brazier, Denise Perry, Julie Laitt, Lisa Gordon. The Sales department has a dedicated support team including Tanya Hill at Cowes Office, and Pat Stevenson and Aly Willard at the Yarmouth Office.
