The house is believed to originate from the 17th century with later additions including the impressive Georgian façade and is Grade II* Listed. The house has many period features but also has had extensive restoration and improvements.
A single storey self contained cottage adjoins the main house, providing ideal accommodation for staff, guests or relatives. There are also further outbuildings, including an attractive stone period stable block. This has been partially converted to provide an entertainment barn with doors opening to a large brick and stone paved terrace.
The gardens are particularly impressive with several themed gardens which have been well planted and maintained. There is a superb croquet lawn with Croquet Association dimensions, an adjacent Georgian covered seat and a separate pavilion. Southerly views towards the nearby downland can be enjoyed from the house and garden.
The picturesque harbour town of Yarmouth has a range of shops, restaurants, The George Hotel and a frequent ferry service to Lymington. In addition to the Sailing Club and Yacht Club there are moorings available on the River Yar. The natural harbour and nature reserve of Newtown also provides further mooring facilities.
